Cars 4 Causes

As you may know, one of the results for of the California State budget crisis, will be a10% funding cut from the primary grant source for MentorWorks.

However, rather than cutting employment placement services to persons with disabilities, we are planning on an increased community fundraising effort to make up for this significant budget shortfall.

The MentorWorks program is the community employment program of Integrated Resources Institute (IRI) a non-profit organization, dedicated to the full inclusion of persons with significant disabilities. Now in its 20th year, IRI is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation governed by a volunteer board.

The 2008-2009 budget for the MentorWorks program is approximately $520,000. We have been informed by our primary grant source, that our funding will be reduced by about 10% ($52,000) this year. Therefore, our fund raising goal will be $52,000 over the next 12 months. As a registered charity, donors may deduct contributions to IRI, from their federal and state income taxes.

One of our newest fundraising strategies will be through "Cars for Causes". Through this service, you can donate your car, RV, boat or motorcycle (anywhere in the U.S.), and Integrated Resources Institute will receive 75% of the proceeds for our MentorWorks program.
